In case you have an email with your own domain
instead of a third-party one, you’ll be able to use an email software app such as Apple Mail, Thunderbird or Outlook to check and manage your email accounts. The benefit of using such applications is that you can also take advantage of other features, such as address books and calendars. There are two different email retrieval protocols that you can choose from when you set up the application of your preference to access your mailbox – POP3 and IMAP. With the first one, all email messages that are received will be downloaded to your device – mobile or desktop, unless you decide to save a copy on the email server. With the second protocol, the email messages will be displayed at your end, but they will stay on the server at all times, so you can set up the email account on numerous devices and access the email messages from any place. You will also be able to access old email messages in case there’s an issue with your Internet service, which is an enormous advantage over a web-based email service.
